For the fourth year in a row, Parentis Foundation is participating in a county-wide fundraising campaign to support our community’s youth. When literacy matters for the future of a child, your support does too.

Creating a safe and secure learning environment for kids to express themselves, understand how words matter, and to embrace unique differences among their friends, family, and community.
With your generosity, we will be able to expand our reading intervention program to include this much needed One Kind Word initiative.

How the Program Works

With our students, mentors will provide reading support and discussion using a Book-A-Month format that is focussed on topics centered around anti-bullying, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each book will conclude with a Question & Answer exercise, a retention assessment, and open dialog on what the student learned. The books are age appropriate and provide guided questions and activities for the student’s mentor and families to initiate rich conversation while strengthening the mentor/mentee connection.
